Pre-orders for these sleek laptops commenced on March 4th, with availability slated to commence on Friday, March 8th. They are offered in four distinct color options: midnight, starlight, silver, and space gray.

The new MacBook Air models feature Liquid Retina Displays boasting 500 nits of brightness and support for an impressive 1 billion colors. Noteworthy enhancements include the ability to support up to two external displays with the lid closed and improved Wi-Fi 6E connectivity.

Additional features encompass a 1080p webcam, two Thunderbolt ports, a 3.5mm headphone jack, speakers with Spatial Audio and Dolby Atmos support, and the convenience of Touch ID.

Apple underscores the M3 MacBook Air’s prowess in AI applications, with a swifter and more efficient 16-core Neural Engine and specialized accelerators in the CPU and GPU, enhancing on-device machine learning capabilities.

Furthermore, the new MacBook Air proudly leads the charge in sustainability, being the first Apple product to incorporate 50% recycled content, including 100% recycled aluminum in its enclosure, aligning with Apple’s environmental objectives.

The new MacBook Air is powered by the cutting-edge M3 chip, crafted using state-of-the-art 3-nanometer technology. This advanced chip boasts a robust 8-core CPU, up to a 10-core GPU, and supports up to 24GB of unified memory. Resulting in up to 60 percent faster performance compared to the M1 model and a staggering 13 times speed improvement over the fastest Intel-based MacBook Air. Additionally, it delivers up to 18 hours of battery life, which is six hours longer than its Intel-based predecessor.

Users will experience the remarkable speed of the M3 chip across a spectrum of tasks, from everyday productivity to demanding activities like photo and video editing, and software development. With the next-generation GPU, the new MacBook Air supports hardware-accelerated mesh shading and ray tracing, offering incredibly realistic gaming experiences. It also features the latest media engine, supporting AV1 decode for more efficient and higher-quality video streaming.

The M3 chip elevates MacBook Air performance even further:

  • Games like No Man’s Sky run up to 60 percent faster than on the 13-inch MacBook Air with the M1 chip.
  • Utilizing AI features like Photomator’s Super Resolution is up to 40 percent faster than on the M1 model, and up to 15 times faster for users still using Intel-based MacBooks.
  • Working with Excel spreadsheets sees up to 35 percent faster performance compared to the M1 chip, and up to 3 times faster for users with older Intel-based Macs.
  • Video editing in Final Cut Pro is up to 60 percent faster than on the M1 model, and up to 13 times faster for users with older Intel-based Macs.
  • Compared to a PC laptop featuring an Intel Core i7 processor, the MacBook Air delivers up to twice the performance, up to 50 percent faster web browsing, and up to 40 percent longer battery life.

The M3 chip also positions MacBook Air as the ultimate consumer laptop for AI applications. With a faster and more efficient 16-core Neural Engine and dedicated accelerators in the CPU and GPU, MacBook Air offers unparalleled on-device machine learning capabilities.

Furthermore, MacBook Air sets a new standard for environmental sustainability, being the first Apple product made with 50 percent recycled content, including recycled aluminum, rare earth elements, and copper. It meets stringent energy efficiency standards and is free of harmful materials like mercury, brominated flame retardants, and PVC. Apple aims to achieve carbon neutrality across its entire manufacturing supply chain and product life cycle by 2030.
